1. Prewriting - Picking a topic and doing research
2. Drafting - Writing down your ideas and research in bullets or sentences
3. Revising - Organizing your ideas into correct sentence which flow into paragraphs
4. Proofreading - Reading over your work for any grammatical errors
5. Publishing - Creating your final product

Word Wall - Word walls are a helpful tool for all ages. It is very inexpensive; all a teacher needs is paper and markers to write the words and a bulletin board. For example, in a kindergarten/1st grade, the letter of the week is “S.” The teacher will put up words that start with “S” and pictures that match that word.

Story Jumper – Free software but you need a computer to access it. It is a great website for students to build and create their own books by adding words, sentences, images, etc. The books may be published for a price.
Inspiration – Software on the computer that creates graphic organizers. It is a visual learning style that helps students gain and retain information that is displayed as images.
